We decided to stay in Austin for an extra day... not only to explore Austin, but to see Tom's cousin, Carolyn -- whom he had not seen in 30 years. Thank you to her husband, Jack, for taking this photo.
What good fortune: Carolyn happened to have tickets to Austin City Limits the same night we were there. We loved it! The featured artist was Esperanza Spalding. What an amazing jazz musician. I've never seen anyone rip on the bass the way she did. And her backup band (all 11 of them) blew me away. Check her out: http://www.esperanzaspalding.com
So in less than 24 hours, we got to: see Austin City Limits, have a drink in the downtown Austin area, walk around Ladybird Johnson Lake (including seeing the apparently infamous guy who rides his bike on the path wearing nothing but a thong), eat at Magnolia Cafe, and get reconnected with family. Pretty cool.

heading off into a new life
Tom took this photo (which I really love) of Matthew & Suchan leaving their reception. Mazel Tov to Mr. & Mrs. Rosenberg!
more reception photos
Here are my cousins Jason and Melinda...
Matthew & Suchan had a photo booth at their reception, which was great fun. They had lots of goofy hats and other props. This is my cousin Jason's wife, Kim.
And here's my mom with the gorgeous bride...
And my dad & Tom (putting up with my shutterbug ways... thank you).

party time!
The party-goers: Aunt Nancy (mother of the groom), and my mother...
Alex (my cousin Jodie's middle child), and my Aunt Merry....
And Aaron & Judah. Let's hear it for cooperative drinking! (What are friends for?)

congratulations, Matthew & Suchan!
Matthew's niece and Suchan's nephew were the flower girl and ring bearer.
Matthew & Suchan were married at a beautiful venue in the hills overlooking Austin. They timed their ceremony perfectly to coincide with the sunset. Doesn't it look like they were married in Hawaii??

partying in Texas
Last weekend we had a wonderful time in Texas. Who woulda thunk those words would ever come out of my mouth???
We went to Austin for my cousin Matthew's wedding. It was my first trip to Texas (Tom had been there before for gigs). If all of Texas were like Austin, I think Texas would be a great state.
