Mmmm.... taco salad!

This afternoon/early evening, we took a walk in the snow.... there were big, fluffy flakes that had just started to come down. When we returned, Tom decided to get creative with a taco salad. Underneath the cheese & chilli-seasoned chicken, he had a layer of corn & black beans, as well as plenty of vegetables. He served up each salad in an enormous serving bowl.... and after skipping lunch today, I ate almost the whole thing! YUM!

Doors are done!

OK, first off: sorry I've taken a bit of a blogging hiatus. Really, we are doing fine -- just busy.
However, now we have something to show for it: finished doors! The top photo is standing in the bar area (in the main/rec room of the basement) looking towards the studio. The double-French doors lead into the playing-part of the studio; the single French door (on the left) leads into the control room.
The bottom photo shows Tom's favorite door. It is the door between the playing-room and the control room. It is an extremely heavy door (all of the doors associated with the studio are outdoor-weight doors; better for sound-proofing), and Tom is very happy with the richness & texture of how the wood grain, stain & varnish turned out.
Last week Tom had his first ever rehearsal in the new studio space. I am sorry to say that I missed it -- but I'm sure I will have plenty of opportunity to catch future "shows."

When we returned from Phoenix (after Christmas) we were able to bring some of the things that we have been storing at Alma & Lowell's (Tom's parents). Among other things, I brought back our old shower curtain, which we've promptly hung in the basement bathroom. Of course, Sable has to check out any changes...

Now that the basement-guest-bedroom has carpet, the next step will be to buy a bed! (That'll have to wait 'til the next paycheck....)

Last week, the carpet was installed downstairs. Although Tom hasn't been able to buy new equipment yet, he's happy to be able to finally "move in," and get some recording started.

Sable is starting to calm down (she was quite upset that we left for a week, came back for 6 days, and then left for a 4-day weekend). She's back to enjoying her bed....

This photo is from our week in Phoenix over Xmas. We had a wonderful visit, including an evening at Jennifer & Henry's. Chef Henry prepared a scrumptious meal, including home-made ice cream! We had a chance to catch up with Jennifer & Henry a bit, as well as see Wendi, Rasesh & Taran.
We came home from Phoenix, and 6 days later, turned around and went to CA. It was a brief but fun visit. Can you believe that I brought our brand-new camera with us, and didn't snap a single picture? (Bad chronologist, BAD!)

We had a great trip to Phoenix for Christmas. (Sorry I've been remiss regarding the posting of new photos; we've been on the go an awful lot.) We enjoyed seeing lots of our friends... and now we're hoping they'll come visit us in CO!

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Phoenix (over Christmas) but it's also good to be back in CO. It snowed a couple of inches while we were gone, so everything looks great here. It's been bright & sunny (and cold!) -- today it warmed up a little, so Tom got to go snow-boarding.
