I'm sure glad we did! Tom made fresh pasta, and a ragu with some home-made Italian sausage. It was delicious!

let's hear it for the snow!
We had dinner reservations tonight in Boulder... but the inclimate weather convinced us to cancel the reservations & stay home, instead.

spring in CO
Yesterday I went jogging in a short-sleeved T-shirt and shorts; it was 65 degrees. Today was a different story.
our March sojourn to Phoenix
We went to Phoenix last weekend -- and had a really great trip. I'm not sure why I didn't take very many photos -- so this picture will have to suffice. (OK, maybe kinda lame, but true!)
We enjoyed spending quite a bit of time with Tom's family. Alma (Tom's mom) is looking great. We went to an art show together in Fountain Hills -- it was a gorgeous afternoon. We also got to meet Steve's (Tom's brother's) new fiance, Karen. They are to be married in October -- Congratulations!
We also got to spend an evening with friends at the Sonora Brewhouse. Jim Bolek, Steve Metz, and Sarah & Erik, along with their friends Eric and Denise, joined us for dinner. Tom got to give hot-off-the-presses copies of Dig Me to Jim, Steve & Erik (as thank-yous for their help on the disc). All in all, we had a fine time.
the girls at the spa
Jennifer, Sarah and I tried a new spa -- Aji at Wild Horse Pass (south of Phoenix). What a great day....
some great Kavi shots
We gave Kavi a bath in the kitchen sink. He was quite happy to play with Uncle Tom's rubber ducks.
We also went to the park, where Kavi was happy to play on the toys and practice his crawling skills.

the Butterfly Pavillion
Last week, Anu, Vijay, Kiran & Kavi visited us from Phoenix. (What great timing; the weather was perfect -- and today it's snowing!) We went to the Butterfly Pavillion, which is one of my favorite things to do with kids. Here are a few butterfly shots from that day.

Tom's garden
The master plan
They're starting to sprout
The setup: Tom is starting his garden indoors this year -- from seed. He has planted dozens of tomato plants (sprouting nicely, on the left) and many pepper plants (coming up a little more slowly, on the right). He has the grow-lights set up on a timer; the whole kit & kaboodle are downstairs in the guest room. If even half of the tomato plants survive we'll be swimming in tomatoes this summer....

Sable & Tom hangin' out at the bar
Normally I'd say that sharing shots with your pets isn't the best habit to endorse... but this was pretty damned cute.
